Yesterday morning I finished the freelance project, then made us French toast for lunch.
After lunch, I headed down to midtown. First stop was my official "home branch" at my bank. (I almost never go there--it's the one the bank designated using some algorithm when they closed the branch I'd actually opened my account at, 13 years ago.) After a bit of a wait, I talked to a helpful banker, closed my CD early, and moved the money into my checking account. To my pleasant surprise, they didn't charge me a penalty for doing this. (I was resigned to the penalty: I need the money now more than I needed the interest.) I didn't ask why, because I didn't want her to change her mind.
Next stop, a FedEx office, to send the manuscript back to the client. That was a relief, mostly because 300 pages of MS is heavy.
I had a good workout.
Hip adduction, 110 pounds, 13, 13, 10
Hip abduction, 95 pounds, 2 sets of 13
Cardio, 27 minutes, top heart rate 145. I really want to get back up to the full 33, but 27 isn't bad at all.
Bench press, 50 pounds, 12, 9; 40 pounds, 13
Seated leg curl, 80 pounds, 3 sets of 13
Adjustable row, 110 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Leg press, 160 pounds, 2 sets of 12. My knees were not happy from here on through the day.
Triceps pulldown, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Crunches, 4 sets of 20.
Back arches, 3 sets of 15
Yoga tree. Oddly, I had trouble with balance on the first time on both legs, then it got better.
Bicep curls, 40 pounds, 10 reps. I got to ten only on sheer bloody-mindedness.
30 pounds, 2 sets of 15

After working out, I went out to
roadnotes and
baldanders's home.
cattitude was there fixing their computer, but had finished the job by the time I arrived. I made tea, and we talked a bit, then they took us out for excellent sushi and conversation. Somehow it got to be almost 9:30 by the time we were done, and I was pleasantly surprised to be home around 10:45. (Sometimes you get good subway connections.)
