The cough is better, but I woke up this morning with a nasty charley horse, and my left calf is still tight and doesn't want to support my weight. Another day not to go to the gym. I think I'll grab one of these nice books and sit in the park after lunch, at least enjoy the weather if not a walk.

Feh.

Is it possible that you're eating so healthily and working out so much that you are getting less salt and potassium than your body needs?

Night-cramps for that reason are a well known thing to happen to people when pregnant, and I found they could be staved off with a packet of crisps before bed. Salt also helps people absorb calcium, so it can help too if it's caused by a calcium deficiency.

I think that's one of the most horrible ways to wake up. *hug*

Can you go to the gym and work your upper body?

So, a charley horse is some kind of cramp?

According to www.wordorigins.org (http://www.wordorigins.org/wordorc.htm#charley) it's an obscure baseball idiom, so I'm no longer surprised that it was new to me. Used to get them all the time as a kid, in the sense of `growing pains'.

The first suggestion I have is "eat more bananas" (up your potassium intake).
