I had a very pleasant lunch with two of my visiting CEL-mates, one from Israel and one from California. I'd found a restaurant called Pongal online--kosher Indian vegetarian. Very tasty. I had the Gujarath lunch special, because it included poori. I also got a pleasant vegetable stew--plenty of carrot and eggplant--rice, a potato-and-lentil cake, and a fine chutney. We talked for a couple of hours, well after we'd finished eating (when you start lunch at 1, they're less likely to want the table when you've finished the meal), then wandered our separate ways. 106 Lex, between 27th and 28th Streets.
Mine was to the gym, after a brief stop to buy a jar of chutney. I did most of my usual workout, then a few oddments to get into a drawing for free personal training.

I also talked briefly with some people who were promoting some kind of "energy drink"; I declined a sample after reading the ingredients, but we had a nice chat about cardinals. I did eat a handful of grapes while I was up there taking my break, and took another handful on my way out. Also two bananas, which are sitting in the kitchen ripening.
