I would just like to note

that while finding a fly in my mug of tea is bad, finding it there after taking a large swallow is worse.

I poured the cup out, and brewed new tea, using my nice Chinese mug with the matching lid.

(Also, and unrelated to the above, detachable handles can look a lot like candles at a quick glance.)

Sympathies for the ickies... and good vibes to boost the immune system, just in case anything that fly was carrying survived past the moment of immersion in tea-water.

Crazy(eeeuw! but still sympathies!)Soph

I've been in fly-infested places and attempted to drink fly-free beverages. I am distressingly empathetic to your plight.

Meanwhile, I'm also reminded of the legendary "how you know you've been in-country too long" Vietnam vet stories about flies and coffee.

And, even more worse...

...is finding the fly before the swallow and then not finding it after the swallow.

Well, unless you really needed the protein.

I tend to just fish 'em out and drink the drink, maybe commenting on it - "There's protein in my tea!"

Perhaps it's a picnic thing.
