I have my spare Palm Pilots; I have sync'd them to my desktop data, labeled them as spares and the sync date, and taken one of them out of the hard case that it came with, because I may want to use the case on the current PDA (a clone, but a fine clone).
I know where I put the two spares I just sync'd, and I'm confident I'll come across the third (received, and thus charged and dated, sooner), probably in a different drawer.
Having three spares is reassuring: by the time they all wear out, there will probably be another device I'm happy with on the market.
