I yawned my way through the morning, despite two cups of tea, and was drowsy and unfocused through a nice dim sum lunch with
cattitude,
eleanor, Vanessa and Betsy. (Also dizzy for a bit, but that went away fairly quickly.) Then Cattitude and I bought assorted groceries (including some greens I don't know the name of, but they were tasty as dim sum, so why not?) and I yawned my way to the subway. I decided I might as well go to the gym--since I pay by the month, not the visit, there's nothing lost if I use one machine and give up.
Halfway through my cardio, I realized I wasn't tired. Mentally, that is: I could feel the exercise, but my brain wasn't foggy. The problem is that I can't spend all my time exercising--I'd get bored, probably strain things, and not have any income.
Hip adduction: 110 pounds, 15, 9, 10
Hip abduction: 95 pounds, 12; 90 pounds, 12
Cardio, 33 minutes, top heart rate 154.
Seated leg curl: 75 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 70 pounds, 15
Bench press, 50 pounds, 12, 7+2; 45 pounds, 8
Back arch/lift with exercise ball: 3 sets of 15
Crunches: 3 sets of 20
Triceps pull-down, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 13
My left wrist started feeling sore during this, so I skipped the adjustable row and the biceps curls, and went straight to stretches and the shower.
By the time I was done working, the warm sunny day had turned into a brisk late afternoon, windy and just above freezing. Fortunately, I had an extra layer to wear under my Fall jacket; that combo is tested down at least to freezing. This made it slightly annoying that, after I walked up to Columbus Circle to use my bank, the ATM was shut down for the day. But I had enough cash, so I just went home, via 181st Street and the bakery where I buy rye bread.
