Situation wanted

After a couple of iterations of back-and-forth on alt.poly, I've defined what I'm looking for from the universe right now. This isn't magic, it's networking, so here it is:

I want (freelance or salaried) writing and/or editorial work that pays enough to live on, working for people who are willing and able to tell me what they want, so I can do it.

Pointers and hints welcome.

Should it be "...for people who can tell me..."?

Maybe. I'm not sure if the last one was unable or just unwilling--and I know I don't want to work for people who could tell me but prefer not to.

Let me ponder this some more.

Then how about "...for people who are willing and able to..." "Can" just sounds wrong.
