I am feeling very pleased with my family at the moment.
Mom thinks it entirely reasonable that I not go over there today, and didn't push me to have her up here instead: she just asked whether I felt like company, I said no, and we proceeded to make other plans.

cattitude is being helpful with tea and other support-for-someone-with-a-cold, and flexible about working around my revised schedule.
roadnotes is offering sensible advice by IM (as is my friend D, who is not on LJ because she fears the timesink).
