I got to the gym this morning, for the first time in a week and a half. I've had better workouts--had to reduce the weight or number of repetitions on some things, and rearrange stuff to be gentle on my left wrist--but it was a workout, and if I get back in a day or two I can do more.
Then I went down to Chinatown. Lunch was good, as usual; Canal Street was crowded, also as usual; and there wasn't a box of clementines to be seen anywhere. Not being foolish or desperate enough to risk Fairway on the Saturday before Christmas, I'll wait a couple of days. We have apples, a dozen Macouns bought at the last Inwood Greenmarket of the season.
Exercise details:
Cardio, 21:04, top heart rate 164, average heart rate according to the machine, 145 (!)
Calf machine, 75 pounds, 12, 10; 65 pounds, 12
Bench press, 65 pounds, 5; 60 pounds, 10, 5
Leg press, 230 pounds, 10 [and I slipped slightly out of position on one of those]; 220 pounds, 10
Wrist curl, 35 pounds, 2 sets of 15 (had to push through the second set)
Back arch with physio ball, 2 sets of 15
Triceps pulldown, 45 pounds, 15, 2: at which point I realized that my left wrist was still/again having trouble and I should stop
Seated leg curl, 100 pounds, 8; 90 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Right-hand bicep curl, 15-pound dumbbell, 15, 9
Stretches
I did less on everything except the cardio, the wrist curl, and (if those count) the stretches
