I went up to Staples (where I bought the printer/fax machine) and asked if they could print me a duplicate receipt. The man said they could if I'd paid with a credit card. I wasn't sure which card I'd used, so I gave him both, and he said it would take about 15 minutes. Twenty-five minutes later (I'd browsed a bit, but it's hard to get excited about cheap ballpoint pens) another employee called my name. She asked when I'd bought the machine, and told me that they only keep records of purchases for six months. Okay, I understand that, but why didn't the first guy think to tell me that? I'm going to hunt a bit more for the relevant paperwork, but I suspect it was eaten by the rebate procedure (which in turn is especially annoying because the rebate "gift check" got misplaced and expired).

Also, the nose pad has fallen off my glasses. Again. This time I have no idea when, and thus no idea where it might be. I suspect a visit to the place I got the glasses is in order (the first time, I got it re-attached at a random eyeglass store near the Port Washington train station).

None of this is earth-shattering, but it's all irritating, and I'm not in the best of moods yet anyhow.
