I've accepted an invitation to be a juror for the 2003 Tiptree Award. *grin*

When I posted that, I had been invited and not decided whether to accept, because I wanted an idea of how much work is involved. Given that I handled the book-of-the-week club in freshman English while holding down a full schedule and without a subway ride to read during, I think I can handle the amount involved here.

I was delighted and flattered to be invited, and am excited by the idea.

Okay, here's that comment, second attempt, sans html this time.

Congratulations and have fun. Question: D'ya know if Bouncing Off the Moon was nominated for whatever year it was eligible? I checked the Tiptree site, but couldn't find long lists for the years in question. I don't necessarily think it should've won, but there's some really interesting stuff around the middle of the book.

For me, it's Mythopoeic season -- gotta prepare for a longish booklist, and I've no idea what'll be on it. I'm nominating Fall of the Kings. [livejournal.com profile] mnemex nominated Eye of Night. Mary Kay Kare is nominating Stories of Your Life. Okay, I've read 1 1/3 out of 3. But I know there's going to be more on the list. Wondering what I've missed from last year.

Addendum: Just nominated The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke to the Mythopoeic Adults' List. Not sure if this was the right call, but that's what the committee (including me) can check on.
