Last night I skipped the NYRSF meeting, because it was cold out and I didn't feel that social. Instead, I made chicken soup. I've restocked the freezer: one container of a lunch worth, and one pint and one cup for cooking.

This morning I went to the gym. I've had better workouts.

Hip adduction, 110 pounds, 14, 11, 10+4
Hip abduction, 95 pounds, 3 sets of 13

Cardio, 33 minutes, top heart rate 141, mostly in low- to mid-130s. I was warmer than usual this time, perhaps because of the location of this bicycle. Not an advantage. The problem with things being busy is that I keep getting different exercise bikes, so it's hard to know whether the variations in heart rate are real or artifacts of the machinery.

Bench press, 50 pounds, 12 reps, then 8+4. 47.5 pounds, 7 reps then quit in disgust
Seated leg curl, 75 pounds, 3 sets of 15. And my calf cramped up while I was stretching after the third set. So I walked slowly and gently until it felt better, and did not proceed to the usual next station, the rowing, because that puts too much pressure on my legs.

Triceps pulldown, 30 pounds, 15, 12, 15. I need to check the form on this, because by the third set I was feeling it in my forearms.

Over to the mat, I did sets of 15: crunches, then the arches-with-exercise-ball, then more crunches, then back arches without the exercise ball, then the whole thing over. So a total of four sets of crunches, and two of each of the others.
Near the end of that I noticed that my left shoulder was sore, so instead of the usual biceps thing, I did one-armed bicep curls, right arm: 15 pounds, 2 sets of 15, then 12 pounds, 1 set of 15.

I finished with stretches, but cut those short as well, because my left wrist hurt and it didn't seem prudent to continue (the stretch machine puts much weight on the wrists as I lean back in various ways.

Shrimp with black bean sauce for lunch, then I picked up our Amtrak tickets for tomorrow. Thence to Fairway, where I took care of most of the shopping list--curry powder, clementines, cheese, ginger, garlic, frozen raspberries.
