I saw the lung doctor today, and based on the CT scan, my lungs are in better shape (less bronchiectasis) than a year ago. I am pleasantly surprised--I've had the bronchiectasis long enough that I didn't expect any improvement.
Based on that, listening to my chest, and what I told her, the doctor said I should see her again in a year, instead of six months, and can wait two years for the next CT scan. (Today should have been a six-month follow-up, but they cancelled the original appointment and rescheduled for months later.)
If I start feeling significantly worse, or the mucus I'm coughing up from my lungs starts looking different ( medical detail )
I should call the office. The doctor sent me home with cups to put away somewhere safe, in case a sputum sample is needed.ETA: My chest is hurting after some more dry coughing, and now I’m trying to figure out whether that has gotten worse in the last couple of months, rather than that I’ve just had a few bad days lately. What I remembered, and said, at the doctor’s office was that I had pulled a muscle recently, and the coughing was sometimes bad enough to strain that, so I hadn’t been using the flutter valve as regularly for a bit.
