New client

I just heard back about that proofreading test, and the company wants to hire me.

My contact sent along their markup on the chapter they had me do as a sample, and some general comments. She wants me to look at their version, compare it with my markup, and call or email if I have questions.

So, please take a look over the attached markup, our inserts, and queries we posed to the author from our proof and compare to your markup. If you have questions, let me know. If there’s a good time before you leave to go over some of this, please let me know so we can get that out of the way.

We also want to get you started on proofing other chapters. Can I send a few short ones your way? Not sure if you can start them before your trip, but we have a lot of work here and would appreciate your help.

Given how I've been feeling today, I will probably either look at all this tomorrow after I see my doctor, or send her a note tomorrow saying it may take a few days.

I definitely need to put some thought into how much time I have for them, given my total availability, and having already committed to copyedit a book this summer.
