This afternoon, I went to the gym/fitness room for the first time since Thanksgiving. I more often go in the morning, because that generally works better for me, but being there at 3:30 meant I got to look at blue sky and sunlight. (My apartment faces east, and the gym has windows looking south and west.) I know that sort of bright view is atypical of the Pacific Northwest in early December, but it looks pretty much the way I expect a random day in December to look (though the details of cloud shapes and flow are different).

There were three other people in the fitness room, all using treadmills while I did my mix of resistance, body-weight exercises, and weight lifting, so I didn't have to wait for any of the equipment. I expect to see more people there as it gets cold and damp, because walking, jogging, or biking outdoors as cardio exercise is less appealing in the rain, or when the temperature is near freezing.

I've started using Evernote to jot down the exercise numbers on my phone, which is handy because I don't have to transcribe them, just tap "sync." I've been deleting one session's numbers when I start to enter the next, but I think I may keep two or three versions on Evernote so I can check the amount of resistance from the previous session.

There is turkey soup simmering on the stove. Before that, we had a couple of meals that were basically leftover Thanksgiving dinner (stuffing with one, the roast vegetables with the next), and I used some of the turkey in a big tossed salad for Saturday's supper, but last night we had pizza because a person can get tired of turkey. So, a nice big pot of soup (probably enough for two meals), and the turkey carcass is no longer occupying an entire shelf of the refrigerator.
