[livejournal.com profile] cattitude, [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger, and I have moved out of the temporary housing. Julian didn't appreciate being put into a carrier, but he wasn't there long and perked right up when we let him out at this end (about half a mile away). There's still significant clutter, but we are making progress on the boxes. At the same time, having everything in one place means that if I want to cook, I have all my spices (except the ones that need replacing because of age), plus things like rice, olive oil, and varied teas. I am typing this in my temporary desk space—it's a real desk, but inconveniently small, and we'd been using it as a printer stand—with a number of things that will be on my desk when I get a new one in sight on a nearby bookcase.

[livejournal.com profile] roadnotes visited us for tea and conversation this afternoon, before we went to get Julian and the last of our stuff. We are all here, and have had company, and it feels a lot more like a home and a lot less like a shipping depot.
