It was fun exercising more-or-less together (she did a lot more cardio than I did, and there were chunks of time that we were in very different areas), and I enjoyed showing her some of the things Emilie has been teaching me.

And then we soaked in the hot tub, which was very pleasant.
If I was in the Boston area and looking for a gym, I might well wind up with Healthworks. I don't know how good their trainers are—and most of the time that doesn't matter to me, but right now I'm working with one—but it's encouraging that they have a wall display listing each trainer's specialties and areas of interest (such as working with new exercisers; balance and Pilates; and "clinical populations")
After the gym, we got some tea, then went down to Trader Joe's for an assortment of useful things like maple syrup, basil, and chicken sausages. Dinner was pasta in a tomato sauce (hence the basil and sausages) and a cold beet soup. Conclusion: plausible, but would have been better with more flavorful beets.
(By the way, if you're keeping track, I went to the gym Thursday, for a session with Emilie, but just put the notes on my computer, not here.)
