Being up in Montreal is like being back a few weeks in the Spring: the maples are just flowering (in New York they have large leaves by now), and the forsythia and daffodils are in full bloom. Except that it is late April, so the days are longer, and the sun comes up earlier. So I have been awake since 6 a.m., having not managed to fall asleep again because there was too much light.

It's been a quiet couple of days: duck poutine, a library book sale, Suite 88's intense hot chocolate and good gelato, and a reasonable amount of tea. People around me have decided it's a good time for a nap; I am to wake one of them around 6:00. (I am very bad at napping, and am not even going to attempt it.) There will be duck pie for dinner, and dim sum tomorrow. It was a nice afternoon for walking around: sunny, upper teens (predicted high was 19C, and when we were walking in the sunshine I carried my jacket, and in the shade I had it on but unzipped).
