redbird: me with purple hair (purple)

Short because I need to be a little careful of the right shoulder at the moment.

Also taking a moment to note that while I was in Arlington, I took out Adrian's blood pressure cuff, followed the standard instructions that your doctor's office almost certainly doesn't (don't eat, drink, or exercise for 30 minutes beforehand, sit comfortably, and don't talk during), and got 138/97, which is not wonderful but is reassuring compared to what I'd had last. It is probably also relevant that this one was taken in the morning, not at 5 or 6 or 7 at night.

One of the items in the auction to save Peter and Ericka's accessible house is the limited edition sampler booklet Now We Are Sick, by Neil Gaiman and Stephen Jones. It was a solicitation of submissions for the anthology of the same title, and contains poetry by Diana Wynne Jones, Alan Moore, Ramsey Campbell, Jo Fletcher, Gene Wolfe, and John M. Ford. (It's not clear to me from the description whether that's a complete list.)

Signed by Neil Gaiman, part of an unnumbered limited edition of 150. Some damage to covers and back page (photos provided showing the extent of damage), sold as is. Auction ends April 25, 2009; high bid as of 0047 GMT on 31 March is $200.

Also, I believe this to be a good cause. I know Peter slightly and Ericka only as a friend-of-friends, but I know and trust the people organizing this auction/fundraising project.
