redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)
( Jan. 10th, 2009 09:21 pm)
I've just booked us a hotel room for Boskone (Friday and Saturday nights). I note that I did this using the online system, which is supposed to have the most up-to-date information, and that when I tried to reserve two double beds in the non-party block, the system couldn't find such a room. It was able to find a room with a king-sized bed, so I took that. Now we can consider whether to email the hotel liaison and ask them if they can change that (there is a spot on the con web page that says "If you've had a problem with room type or party/non-party block" email with confirmation number, all names, what we have, and what we want, and they'll get the reservations fixed).

Other details, trains, etc. can wait. I haven't even told my boss I want the time off (though I very much doubt it would be a problem; I have 2.5 days of vacation that must be used by the end of March, in addition to my time for 2009. No, I didn't expect to be carrying over vacation time for 2008).
