I've just booked us a hotel room for Boskone (Friday and Saturday nights). I note that I did this using the online system, which is supposed to have the most up-to-date information, and that when I tried to reserve two double beds in the non-party block, the system couldn't find such a room. It was able to find a room with a king-sized bed, so I took that. Now we can consider whether to email the hotel liaison and ask them if they can change that (there is a spot on the con web page that says "If you've had a problem with room type or party/non-party block" email with confirmation number, all names, what we have, and what we want, and they'll get the reservations fixed).
Other details, trains, etc. can wait. I haven't even told my boss I want the time off (though I very much doubt it would be a problem; I have 2.5 days of vacation that must be used by the end of March, in addition to my time for 2009. No, I didn't expect to be carrying over vacation time for 2008).

If you want two double beds, and especially if you need them, yes, please, contact the hotel liaison as the Boskone page requests. In the past, I've sent email to him when we were sitting just 6 feet apart from each other. Certainly it's fine for you to do the same from 1.42 miles away. :-)
(That only makes it all the more amusing to think about how far the electrons travel to and fro.)
