redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

Either I have a cold or I'm just worn out. (I have had some trouble sleeping the last few nights, and when I went to take a nap earlier, I think I managed to sleep for about 40 minutes.) Walking a block was tiring this morning (yes, it's uphill, but not a steep slope, and I do that hill just about every morning), so I came home, called in sick, and have been trying to take it easy. Other than that, a bit of cough, and sneezing earlier in the week; neither would be enough to keep me home if I had a bit more energy.

The annoying thing about this is I've had to postpone a birthday dinner with my mother and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude; I'm hoping to do that tomorrow, on the theory that even if I'm not well enough to go back to work, we can lure her up here. (She's staying with my aunt, who lives less than a mile from my office.)

ETA: Despite this, I have done a little bit of exercise, balancing the lack of energy against the mood-enhancing value of exercise. I have no weight machines here, but some calf raises, some squats…and now I'm going to do the shoulder-strengthening things I got from the PT, which use a piece of stretchy elastic.
