I'm up here in Boston with
adrian_turtle. We've had mostly a quiet, domestic weekend. Yesterday, Adrian had an errand moved from today because of the then-approaching snowstorm. She dropped me at a branch of my gym, and I got in a good workout. (I keep a spare set of gym clothes and a combination lock in a drawer here, just in case. This is the first time I've used it.) It was suburban and spacious, but I had to spend some time finding where they keep various equipment. Also, while the rest of the gym was quite warm, the women's locker room was chilly.
This morning, I checked the weather and found "travel is not recommended." I thought about it, and figured I could decide after lunch. After lunch, the MBTA was saying 25-minute delays on all bus routes, which would probably have had me on a 4:00 bus, with either messy roads or lots of crowding, possibly both. And I'd more or less decided I didn't want to be on the roads in these conditions. So I'm staying over, and will take a 7 a.m. bus out of South Station (yes, that means getting up at 5:30; Adrian has to also, to get to work). That should put me at work around noon.
We've been enjoying each other's company. Had a nice walk yesterday while it was still bright and sunny. When I'm done posting this, I will be moving laundry from washers to dryers.
I have also made myself useful by clearing off, and digging out, Adrian's car. In my boots and parka, and a borrowed pair of snowpants, I stayed mostly dry, even when I fell into a snowbank, laughing (not on purpose). I noted that if she's going to date a gym rat, she might as well get the benefit of the muscles. More seriously, one of the reasons I like being strong is that it helps me take care of the people I love.
( gym numbers, as usual )
