Happy birthday to my beloved [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle!

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] baratron!

A happy solstice to those who love sunlight; it's the longest day in the north, and sunreturn in the south.

I've spent a lot of time lately sitting around waiting for people who didn't turn up during the promised time.

Last week it was a FedEx delivery that turned out not to have been sent after I wasted most of an afternoon. Today it was the intercom repair people. We were asked to be available to, presumably, let them look at our intercom boxes from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. So I got up and dressed, instead of trying to get back to sleep (I woke up much too early). At 2:00, having heard and seen nothing, I found the super. No, they hadn't done the job and left without needing to come into my apartment: they aren't here yet.

So I went for a brief walk, and then came upstairs and made some scrambled eggs. I think I'm going to have to write off the possible afternoon nap as well. Feh.

I'm torn between observing that part of the problem is that being if anything compulsively early, I don't deal well with delays, and the point that I've spent a lot of time stuck in the house but unable to nap, and that I just want something to go right. That's an exaggeration, born in part of lack of sleep: meeting with [livejournal.com profile] gothgeekgirl and [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes last night went just fine, for example.

Personal to [livejournal.com profile] nnaloh: I got your email, but trying to reply to it crashed my Eudora client, as does every attempt to reopen it. I might be available that Wednesday, but won't know until probably the afternoon of that day; if that's okay, please let me know where/when.

(I suspect that some combination of the code for the blue background, and the attachment, is what's making my system unhappy, but I'm guessing: I can't reopen the thing to retrieve your email address, unfortunately.)
