redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

I plugged in my old trackball Sunday, and by midday yesterday remembered why I'd stopped using it. It wasn't the shoulder--or not mostly the shoulder. Something about it, and how I was using it, were putting a lot of stress on the ball of my thumb. Ouch!

So I'm back to left-handed mousing, and thinking about what I'd want in a trackball.

redbird: a Cooper's hawk sitting on a branch (cooper's hawk)

Not exactly a GIP:

Does someone here have a link to the "boobies/tits" bird icon, and if so, do you know whether it's available for me to use?

redbird: closeup of pale purple crocuses (crocuses)
( Feb. 21st, 2006 05:08 pm)
I have my all-purpose cardigan back. It was in today's mail, in a padded envelope, with a friendly and very purple card from [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel, and I am extremely pleased.

I went for a nice walk today; it's still not much above freezing, but that's better than not much below, and most of the snow is gone, even in the woods. I ran into some long-time neighbors--they've been up here, and enjoying the park, longer than we have--who told me they'd put up a bird feeder, and where. So I went and looked, and enjoyed the chickadees flying low, and perching near me, even though I had no seeds to give them. (They kept swooping close enough that I could hear their wings beating, which is a lot closer with a little bird than with a mallard.) I also saw two crocus buds--they won't be opening for a few days, even if all goes well (and they neither freeze nor are eaten by squirrels), but they were distinctly and visibly pale purple. It's the same place/group of bulbs this userpic is from.
