1. Don't step on the cat.
1a. Since he gets underfoot, don't wear shoes at home unless I have specific reason to (usually that I'm about to go out or have just gotten in). Slippers are okay.
2. Don't overdo the exercise, because that can be hard on the lungs.
3. Don't chew on my lower lip.
4. Don't eat tasteless "sweets" or other dubious foodstuffs just because I paid for them, or they're sitting around for free at the office.

So, I called my GP's office back.

I didn't get anything like an apology. I got "we left a message" and, when I said I hadn't gotten it, only "If you say so" followed, after a moment, by "so what do you want?" I had to explain that I still need to see the doctor, and then sat on hold for what felt like a long time.

Rather than accept 10:30 this coming Friday--which would probably mean noon or so, and eat most of a workday--I'm going back next Monday at 4, so I can get in most of a day at work.

They are faxing a new physical therapy referral over, since I have PT tomorrow--or said they would, which isn't the same thing but is the best I can do for the moment.

I'm going to replay the recorded message when I get home, to see if I misunderstood it. If not, I'm going to bring this up with Dr. Kump when I see her.

Things for the next visit: follow-up on lungs; check on the PT referral; skin rash Rx (which I forgot to pick up last time); eye doctor referral (which should have been mailed to me).
