Back at work

"Back" both because it's a place I've worked before, and because I'd had only the small amount of freelance work for a while.

The job is likely to be six weeks, not four, which is fine with me. I could do 9-5 again, if I want, but 10-6 is more compatible both with cattitude and with Catherine, who hired me, and some of the other people I'll be working with. Today I did 10-5, because I was tired (staying up until midnight after two consecutive travel days will do that) and there wasn't much that needed to get done immediately.

I spent the day getting a basic introduction to what I'll be doing, which includes a bit of production/trafficking along with the copy editing and proofreading I was expecting. I get the trafficking while Catherine is on vacation, a fortnight starting Monday. The introduction included "here, these need thus-and-such, bring it back when you're done," so it was productive as well as educational.

My McGraw-Hill ID card has been reactivated, meaning it will again open the office doors. This time, I may be getting a building ID as well, which will save hassle.
