I've been in Montreal since Saturday, mostly just hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] papersky, [livejournal.com profile] zorinth, and [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel. We've wandered around, sat home reading and talking, been to a few bookstores (though I've bought no books yet, being happy with Papersky's Bujold collection at the moment). On Sunday we even saw some non-family people: very pleasant dim sum with [livejournal.com profile] rezendi and Joyce WINOLJ.

Rysmiel said yesterday "I hope you feel like this is your home, in a non-exclusive way of course." And I do, to the extent that I can when most of my clothes and books, as well as [livejournal.com profile] cattitude and [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger, are elsewhere and I don't have my own bed. This may be why I've weeded the front steps--that started as almost reflex, and then became a short-term project, and moved on to weeding the steps at the edge of the tunnel that's the easy route to Rue Sherbrooke and the patisserie we like, before catching myself at it and saying "you can't weed every staircase in NDG". This morning, Rysmiel went off to work, and we traveled together via the patisserie to the Metro station. From there, I went and bought groceries: I haven't cooked in days, and want to, so I have sausages and mushrooms and an assortment of fine fresh berries. The plan is for this to be a day I take it easy, do some online stuff, read, take a nice cool bath, and such; I've already done more running around than I'd originally planned, but Marche Atwater is a delight.
