I've gotten a massage from Kari Dunning, who uses some Feldenkrais and yoga techniques as part of her massage practice (for example, after doing what felt like a more conventional massage on my upper arm, forearm, and then hand, she had me rotate my fingers, one at a time, in small circles, first in one direction and then in the other (pinkie, index finger, ring finger, then middle finger). Apparently I have unusually good isolation of my ring fingers, especially the left.
My shoulder felt better for the massage, and Kari and
shikzoid say I'm breathing better and standing in a more balanced way. I hope some of the effects last through randomness ranging from my doing some weeding (Janice didn't ask me to, but knows me well enough that she didn't try hard to prevent me) and tomorrow's trans-continental flight.
