I just, as my GP advised, called the mammogram place to ask if they could see me earlier. (There was something iffy last time, so they recommended a six-month followup, instead of a year, and I let it slide until I saw my GP about something else a couple of weeks ago.) The receptionist asked when I'd been in last, and when I told her last summer, she told me that no, it had been November. I think that November was the follow-up sonogram (which found no problems). But she believes that the end of June is a fine time for me to come in.

I then asked her to make sure I could have a sonogram the same day, if needed. And then discovered that I couldn't have an appointment for the time I thought, and explained that if it wasn't for then I had no idea when it was.

The upshot of this is that I'm scheduled for both tests, 45 minutes earlier than I previously was.

And that I may take her advice of "call back periodically" and try to get a different person tomorrow. Before I do, I will check on exactly when my last mammogram was.

I just used the phrase "even were I minded to shave my body" in a comment to one of [livejournal.com profile] catamorphism's polls.
