A long day because I got up at 6:10 (after not getting to sleep until after 11, though I tried going to bed around 10). If one is going to leave the house at 6:45, at least it's the right time of year for it: it was light when I left. (I got to the railroad early enough that I think I can leave at 7 tomorrow.) Egrets and wisteria out the window on the trip out.
People at the job continue to like me. Marvin keeps urging me to relax and slow down; it's not as easy as it sounds. I also need to figure out some way to look at what he's showing me without straining my neck and shoulders from leaning over. I now have a "May pass", meaning I won't need to sign in at the front desk and get a "visitor" sticker: I have this at the instigation of the receptionist, who told me "Go to Andrea and tell her to give you one" at the end of the day today. So I did, and Andrea did. I also have an actual desk--in an office, of all things--to work at, rather than part of a table that is also used for other purposes. No phone, however: more precisely, the phone on that desk is good only for calls within the company, and I have no cell phone signal.
I went to the gym after work: 20 minutes of cardio and the Xpressline (eight weight machines in about 15 minutes). Also, one set of crunches after lunch.
And then I got home, slightly damp, to find that my printer refuses to print, for lack of ink. I discovered this, of course, by trying to print something that I would, if I had hardcopy, be proofreading now in order to fax back before I go to work tomorrow. So I need to call Alda, who probably won't be at her desk before I get to mine.
Fortunately,
cattitude made a very nice pot of chili for supper tonight. He has also offered to go buy more ink cartridges.
