redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)
( Dec. 15th, 2003 10:49 am)
I went downstairs a little after nine this morning. The super was sitting in his office, and when I walked in he had an "Oh, no, now what?" look. So I told him [livejournal.com profile] cattitude had been downstairs the previous night because we had a leak, and he quickly got up and grabbed a measuring tape, flashlight, and jacket and came with me. The change in attitude was marked enough that I'm wondering what sort of irrelevant or impossible things people have been asking of him lately.

On the way up he got his assistant, and they have now measured the locations of both leaks, and gone up to the roof to measure there and figure out where the problem is. He said he wouldn't need to come back in here; I hope it'll be a quick and easy task, but the only way to know will be to wait for the next snowfall to melt.

So, of course, he came back a couple of hours later, with the building management agent, and pointed out the spots where it had been dripping to the agent. He also told me there was nothing obvious on the roof. And said no, they won't need me again. Which is what they said last time--I'm not going to stay home on this account, but I am keeping my clothes on while I'm here.
