I answered a craigslist ad for a scientific proofreader this morning, and within ten minutes had email from the person I'd contacted, asking if I'm looking for a contract right now, and what my hourly rate "aspirations" would be.
I answered a craigslist ad for a scientific proofreader this morning, and within ten minutes had email from the person I'd contacted, asking if I'm looking for a contract right now, and what my hourly rate "aspirations" would be.
I just spoke to Jennifer, and she seems on-the-ball. I told her a bit more about my experience, and where I got my scientific background (basically, a good liberal education and continued reading). She'll send my resume to the client, and if all goes well--meaning it fits what they're looking for--I'll have a proofreading test in a couple of days, and could start on this next week. It's a two-month project, but she doesn't think a day or two off for Albacon would be a problem.
