I just spoke to Jennifer, and she seems on-the-ball. I told her a bit more about my experience, and where I got my scientific background (basically, a good liberal education and continued reading). She'll send my resume to the client, and if all goes well--meaning it fits what they're looking for--I'll have a proofreading test in a couple of days, and could start on this next week. It's a two-month project, but she doesn't think a day or two off for Albacon would be a problem.

Good luck from here, too. Fingers crossed!

Luck to you. Holyoutlaw can cross all four of his fingers on both hands. I can only cross about 2-1/2. But they're crossed for you.

(Just like you to make sure you can take time off from a two month project to attend a con. You know, while I was at Officer Candidate School in the Navy I convinced them that it would be good for me as a programmer if I got a weekend off out of training to attend Disclave. They paid my way.)

Luck, lots of good luck. It sounds promising, too.
