This time, I got a ride both ways, by staying around after dinner to make corrections to manuscripts. This is now sane-for-me because David no longer stays up half the night, so
womzilla and I left Pleasantville around 12:30.
Manuscripts were discussed and sometimes disagreed about, and we talked about War for the Oaks and urban fantasy, A. Merritt, and other recent fiction.
A buck wandered through the back yard in the afternoon, and we saw lots of deer on the ride home.
A new staffer named Christine (not
bugsybanana) offered a variety of suggestions related to possible employment, some of them maybe even plausible (signing up for a multi-thousand-dollar course in things I already know in order to make contacts isn't practical; attending a networking evening is; going into accounting might be).
