I had a nice Chinese lunch after all that exercise, then dropped in on [livejournal.com profile] porcinea, who fed me lots of Darjeeling tea while we talked. I tore myself away about 4:30, so I could be on the A train before rush hour.

[livejournal.com profile] cattitude came home this afternoon to a message from the vet. Artemis has an elevated white blood cell count in her urine, which is evidence of an infection. So, another three-week course of Amoxycillin, which she'll just hate.

Cat-sitting starts Saturday.

I have the keys, and a bunch of notes about what to do while cat/dog/rabbit/plant-sitting. The animals get water and food daily. The plants get water every other day. The cat gets peanut butter with an asthma pill ground into it twice a week.

Piglet or Simon will be emailing me another copy of the instructions. Said instructions include contact phone numbers, in Inwood and Scotland, which vets they use, etc.

And they gave me $80 cash "in case I need to take the rabbits to the vet in a cab or something"; the vet has their credit card number on file, in case.

I expect it's just going to be supplying food and water. The offer of staying over is tempting--there are times it might be easier not to head uptown--but I need to be home to dose Artemis twice a day for a period that will extend past this pet-watching gig.
