roadnotes, who is kindly lending me some music. We had dinner at Mingala, and talked over recent events and thoughts. People who do and don't want to work--not that I love the nine-to-five grind, but that I want to do some interesting and productive things, even if money isn't an issue (which is why I have all those support points). If I had the money, I'd travel more, and I'd love to be able to declare a holiday just because it's sunny and cool outside. But I don't thrive if all I do is play nethack all day. (Or maybe not doing interesting and productive things is a symptom, rather than a cause. Or both, in a feedback loop.)
I apologized at one point for being consistently catty about her Dubious Ex, but she told me that she was enjoying it, and didn't think the cattiness was interfering with accuracy.
And now I'm home, with a slight gastrointestrinal problem, so I've made a cup of decaffeinated darjeeling tea, with a little sugar and no milk (and an ice cube, after I burned my tongue--milk serves many purposes in tea).
