I won't have to hunt for the little 2.5-pound plates, I can just put one 25-pounder on each side. So I did three sets of 12 reps on that.

I didn't even get out of the house until close to 3--on a day when the gym was closing at 6 because of the holiday. But I got there in time, and found lots of other people there. It's usually not crowded on holiday weekends--I can see why they reduce hours and cancel classes. Today, it seemed as though lots of people had decided that this wasn't really the time for that barbecue or beach trip, and maybe some hotel guests decided to take a break from running around in the rain.
I stopped at Fairway on the way home, so we have decent garlic, and PG Tips tea, again. Also blueberries--the plums looked sad and overpriced. I'll have to look elsewhere, since I now have my mother's plum cake recipe, which turns out to be based on her mother's yellow cake.

Last time the 3:00 ending time turned into 4. Email will be held at panix; telephone is better, and cell phone better than landline (because the mobile has voice mail, and the answering machine for the regular phone is on the same power), if it's urgent. We're likely to be out and about, rather than sitting home reading by daylight, which is another argument for the mobile.
