I dug out my London Transport ID card this morning (to answer a question), and in the process found I had tucked $60, actual American money, between it and the Hong Kong dollars. A nice not-really-a-windfall. And I took the opportunity to toss backup tapes from my former job, dated between 1992 and 1994, on a system that has been decommissioned. Now I just need to figure out where the Paris Metro ID is hiding (not for any specific reason) and locate the earring that dropped to the floor, and straight to Tumbolia, last night.

It was a badly formed Eudora filter, the result of a careless click on "create filter" on yet another spam message. I think I've retrieved almost everything--the message from ConJose programming is probably gone forever, but I just wrote to tell them I won't be there, so that's resolved. More to the point, I've retrieved everything I'm going to be able to retrieve; future mail should be okay, but if you emailed me last week and got no answer, please resend.

I met
roadnotes for pastry and conversation this afternoon. We caught each other up on our lives, which involved me sharing a bunch of worries more than news; she passed along some news of other old acquaintances, which after a bit had a soap opera summary feeling; we ate chocolate mousse and drank cold beverages; and then we went home. It was too hot to wander around the Village.
