[livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I just finished a Scrabble game with a score of 514 to 503 (in his favor), for a combined total of 1017, our new record. Unfortunately, neither of us thought of photographing the board until we'd already put the letters away.

phreeeow. I rarely manage to top 250, and I'm the Scrabble queen 'round these parts. I suspect that you're one of the few people ([livejournal.com profile] cattitude presumably being the other) who could whip my butt at it. ;)

Wow! An excellent accomplishment!

(I consider any game with an aggregate score above 800 to be a Game Well Played, no matter who won.)

Any juicy plays that you remember that you'd care to share?

Both are food words, right?

I'd see BAILOUT long before TABOULI. Nice finds!

Two recent games:

Scoring was done in an odd way my roomie grew up with where you cancel equal values, so you don't know the final total, alas. She ended up beating me by four points. Two players. Kickass moves of the night: 'Bind' extended to cross 'lupus' and make 'Bindings;' 'xi' played on triple-letter-score.

Three players, final score 194 / 197 / 209. Lowish scores, there, but considering we couldn't get built out into nearly a third of the board for love nor money ... :-> Very dense game. Cool move: pharaohs is just such a COOL word. ... Though as I look at it now, I think we misspelt it.
