I was talking to my mother this morning, and mentioned that
cattitude and I are considering visiting
jonsinger and
lisajulie later this Spring, and I also mentioned that Jon does pottery, rather more seriously than I ever did. This led to Mom, naturally enough, asking me what Jon does for a living. So I explained that, and added that part of what is so cool about this is that if anyone else I know had a job just being themselves and doing what interests them, probably most of us would be extremely jealous. Since it's Jon, the general reaction is
papersky's observation that it's cool that the universe has room for Jon to have a job being Jon Singer.
My mother also pointed out that Jon's employer, whom I have not yet met, must also be a cool person.
