It's snowing, which might have led me to sit indoors all afternoon, instead of getting outside even briefly.

However, I was On A Mission. Someone (who can identify zirself if zie wishes) asked in zir LJ for some hawthorn branches. This touched off my finding things/solving problems/connecting people with resources buttons. I grabbed my coat and went for a walk in the snow. The area of Inwood Hill Park nearest my home was landscaped, some decades back, by people who liked hawthorns, so it now contains a number of mature, twisty hawthorn trees, which periodically drop branches.

I looked under a couple of trees and saw nothing useful, hardly even a berry. I apologized to a mallard drake, because he was under a hawthorn, but managed not to disturb him in discovering that there was nothing there.

The next tree had lots of small branches under it. I picked up half a dozen that fit my friend's specification, and walked a little further, not stopping as I told the mallards that this trip out in the snow was to gather branches, not bring them a snack.

Another tree, near the sidewalk, yielded a thicker branch, in case that's what's wanted. I only hope berries aren't called for; it's late enough that there are few left, and those have probably been trodden if not pissed on.
