If I had, I might have guessed that the miniature calendar I bought (for about $4 Canadian including tax) was in French. I was lured by the pictures, and didn't notice that it says "Le charme des Fleurs Sauvages" and "Calendrier de 2003 édition spéciale de 16 mois" and absolutely nothing else on the front. The months and moon phases are the same as on any calendar I'd buy, of course, and so are most of the holidays--except that it has "féte national du Québec" for 24 June and doesn't have US Independence Day. We'll be buying a larger calendar anyhow, to hang where we normally hang calendars, and I'll have pretty pictures of flowers as soon as I figure out a non-destructive way to pin this one to my desk.

les fleurs sauvages

Not just flowers, but "Wild flowers," and not "pretty" so much as "charming" :-) Last year I used a tiny calendar that was in Dutch that a friend got for me on a visit to Amsterdam.

felicitations pour le nouveau anne = good luck for the new year.

I suppose you can manage the days of the week in French, and it's not like the US holidays are going to surprise you the way the Canadian holidays surprised us in 2002.

Someone asked me what we were doing for Jean-Baptiste Day, and I only barely avoided saying "Dancing with a head on a platter..." Someone else had the same idea, because there was a production of Wilde's Salome on downtown in French.

Looking at my calendar, I see it's only in English, which is unusual, I'm used to seeing a couple of other languages in there, smaller. It does, however, have holidays marked for countries as cosmopolitan and far flung as Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the US, so I can't complain.

A friend of mine overseas sent us a calender (in French) of le Petit Prince. Thankfully, I read French, but I'd use it anyway, since I adore that book.

But your calendar sounds lovely!
