[livejournal.com profile] eleanor called late this morning to invite me to join her and her stepdaughters for dim sum. I agreed, and suggested she call [livejournal.com profile] volund, which gave us a nice friendly fivesome to share assorted tasty things. Too many assorted tasty things, in part because Vick[i|y]s like sticky rice and ordered thirds. Not only did we not have room for ice cream, but I was full enough two hours later that it interfered with my planned workout. (Part of that time was deliberately wandering around to talk with Ellie some more and to have time to walk the meal off.)

On the way to HSF (which I have now been going to for 20 years, as I realized during the meal), I answered a man's "hello" on the subway platform, even though I couldn't quite place him. (I'm often bad at recognizing people, especially out of context.) He stopped, then said his name was Mark and asked mine. I told him and commented on his T-shirt. He smiled and asked whether I had a train to catch. I said no, but I had a friend to meet. He said "okay" and offered a hug, which I accepted, then said he'd see me around.

I now have no idea of whether we'd met before, or, if not, whether he'd mistaken me briefly for someone else, or just really needed a moment of human contact.

Cardio, 24 minutes, top heart rate 153

Assisted chin-up, 10, 6

Calf machine, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 12. I had to push for the last two, which means I have it just right--this is a higher weight, so back down to 12 reps for the nonce.

Bench press, 60 pounds, 12, 7; 55 pounds, 6 (I started feeling vague pressed-down-on during this)
Seated leg curl, 85 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Lat pulldown, 72 pounds, 2 sets of 12

Triceps pulldown, 40 pounds, 15, 11--this is where I said "fuck it" and stopped.

And I didn't get to do my usual stretches, because the machine was labeled "out of order" and they no longer have a second one like it.
