On the way to HSF (which I have now been going to for 20 years, as I realized during the meal), I answered a man's "hello" on the subway platform, even though I couldn't quite place him. (I'm often bad at recognizing people, especially out of context.) He stopped, then said his name was Mark and asked mine. I told him and commented on his T-shirt. He smiled and asked whether I had a train to catch. I said no, but I had a friend to meet. He said "okay" and offered a hug, which I accepted, then said he'd see me around.
I now have no idea of whether we'd met before, or, if not, whether he'd mistaken me briefly for someone else, or just really needed a moment of human contact.
Cardio, 24 minutes, top heart rate 153
Assisted chin-up, 10, 6
Calf machine, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 12. I had to push for the last two, which means I have it just right--this is a higher weight, so back down to 12 reps for the nonce.
Bench press, 60 pounds, 12, 7; 55 pounds, 6 (I started feeling vague pressed-down-on during this)
Seated leg curl, 85 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Lat pulldown, 72 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Triceps pulldown, 40 pounds, 15, 11--this is where I said "fuck it" and stopped.
And I didn't get to do my usual stretches, because the machine was labeled "out of order" and they no longer have a second one like it.
