I wasn't enthusiastic about exercise this morning (because of random aches and pains), and then the gym wasn't adequately air conditioned. Nonetheless, I persevered, and did quite a lot for a day when I never really got into it, and had to abort the cardio halfway through because I was feeling dizzy.
Cardio, 18:30; top heart rate 151; stopped because of dizziness. I stopped pedaling and just sat on the stationary bike for a minute, then got up, walked into the weight room, and sat on the calf machine. After resting a little more, I got weight plates for that machine and continued with the workout.
Calf machine, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Hip adduction, 110 pound, 3 sets of 15
(Hip abduction, 100 pounds--stopped after 5 because my right hip hurt when I did this one.)
Assisted chin-up, assistance set at 19: 10, 4, 5
Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arch/lift with physio ball: 3 sets of 16
Tree, 4 sets of (2 on each leg, then switch)
Bench press: 60 pounds, 9, 7; 50 pounds, 11
Seated leg curl, 80 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 70 pounds, 15
Tricep pulldown, 40 pounds, 2 sets of 15; 35 pounds, 15
I didn't want to do free weights, because of the earlier dizziness, so I found a machine for the biceps:
Arm curl, 25 pounds, 12, 10; 20 pounds, 10
Leg press, 180 pounds, 11, 14, 14
Stretches
Then I went down to Canal Street and had duck with sweet ginger for lunch. I got
cattitude a second pair of cheap, comfortable Teva knockoffs at Mall of Great Wall (which seems to be Pearl River under a new name), and bought myself a pair of those cheap plastic-soled cloth shoes, purely because they were purple. I would have liked a pair of the sandals, but the smallest size they had was a men's 10.
Thence uptown, rye bread, and home.
