I got back to the gym today. I wanted to say "Finally!" but it had only been nine days between workouts, nothing if I'm away or busy. It's different if you want to, have the time, and still can't.

So I went, did a short workout, and had a fine time. Everything was shaped by my uncertainty as to how long my feet would be comfortable in sneakers-and-socks instead of sandals or nothing.


Five-minute cardio warmup, top heart rate 136

Then I did the "XpressLine", to get a lot in quickly. I managed 12 reps on everything, even the overhead press where I wasn't sure I'd get to eight. Based on the last numbers I wrote down for this, that's:

Seated leg press, 200 pounds, 12 reps
Leg extension, 40 pounds, 12 reps
Leg curl, 80 pounds, 12
Lat pulldown, 70 pounds, 12
Shoulder press, 35 pounds, 12
Chest press, 45 pounds, 12
Bicep curl, 35 pounds, 12
Tricep curl, 35 pounds, 12


Crunches, 3 sets of 15 (a week away from these seems to have cost me)
Back arches, 3 sets of 15

Reverse wrist curl, 15 pounds, 2 sets of 15
Calf machine, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Stretches


If I'm sensible, I'll go back Saturday. Tomorrow is tempting, though. Either way I can go to the Greenmarket afterwards.
