Yesterday I promised myself a workout today.

By the time I was getting dressed this morning, my right foot was further bruised (it's slightly larger than the left, so tight shoes affect it more). I dealt with this by wearing my sandals, and putting my sneakers and a pair of thin socks in my pack along with the usual gym clothes.

First I went down to Century 21 to return some exercise tops that hadn't fit (one way they keep costs and prices down is to have no fitting rooms; customers take things home, and have 30 days to return them if they don't fit). [livejournal.com profile] eleanor lured me there on July 1, so I was running out of time. Returning stuff was straightforward, but took half an hour, counting finding the customer service area as well as waiting on line. It was straightforward, but slow, because there were a lot of returns and few clerks.

Then I had a reasonable workout, and came home.

Cardio, 23 minutes, top heart rate 148

Hip adduction, 115 pounds, 3 sets of 13
Hip abduction, 100 pounds, 2 sets of 13
Calf machine, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Bench press, 60 pounds, 2 sets of 10
Seated leg curl, 80 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Tricep pulldown, 35 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Arches, 3 sets of 16

Only the lower and upper back stretches: the others put pressure on one or another bruise.

About half an hour ago, I noticed that the foot was stiff. When I mentioned this, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude pointed out that it is now visibly swollen. I have a coldpack on it as I type, but this is Not Good At All. I have an annoyingly large assortment of bruises on my legs and foot, and stiff knees again, and even walking around the apartment barefoot is uncomfortable.
