I forgot to mention the bird, in the World of Birds, that was flying back and forth between the open-fronted exhibit area, and the top of a narrow space behind where the visitors walk, carrying twigs with which he was building a nest. There's a mirror behind the shelf, and we're not sure whether he was singing to say "hey, look, here's a good nest" to potential mates, or "my shelf, my shelf, my shelf!" to his reflection/apparent rival in the mirror. (There's a sign on one of the open-fronted exhibits explaining why the birds don't fly out, and indeed this is the first time I've seen one doing so.)

Also, [livejournal.com profile] treadpath posted some good pictures from the trip--buffalo, peacock, prairie dogs, tiger.
