My gym is planning to introduce some kind of supervised fast workout with weight machines, aimed at people who only do cardio now. They've gotten eight new machines (some may be duplicates of stuff they already had) and rearranged much of the existing equipment to make room for them, so I spent some time wondering where things were. Also, I did almost entirely upper-body stuff, because of an odd pain in one leg.

Cardio, 33 minutes, top heart rate 156, and mostly 144-151. I hit 144 before the four-minute mark, which is fast for me.

Triceps pulldown, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Bench press, 50 pounds, 12, 9+3, 8+3

Tried doing the seated leg curl with only the left leg, but the machine isn't really built for putting one leg out of the way: 35 pounds, 10 reps.

Adjustable row, 110 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arches, 2 sets of 16 (near the end of set 2, my right leg didn't feel right, so I didn't do a third set)

Hip adduction, 115 pounds, 13, 13, 12
Hip abduction, 100 pounds, 3 sets of 13
Biceps curls, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Overhand wrist curls, 3 pounds in each hand, 3 sets of 15
Assisted pullup, maximum assist, 10, 7

Stretches

With a bit more time, it would have been good to do lat pulldowns and lateral raises.

After exercising, I met [livejournal.com profile] marykaykare, her niece Sarah, and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude at Ollie's, where we ate lots of Chinese food and talked about theatre and such (Mary Kay and Sarah are in the city for a week of intensive theatre-going). Then we went around the corner for ice cream. after which I concluded I was too tired to go to the piano bar, so came home with Cattitude.
