We got all the tax forms figured far enough to guesstimate what we owe, and sent off checks with the extension forms (a few bits of paperwork need to be found, the sort of thing that probably affects our taxes by about $10). Then we headed out into a beautiful Spring afternoon, to our respective gyms.

I am very well exercised, and did a bit of the "more reps at lower weights" that my doctor suggested.

Hip adduction: 100 pounds (down ten), 20, 20, 18
Hip abduction: 90 pounds (down 5), 3 sets of 15

Cardio, 23 minutes, top heart rate 150

Bench press: 50 pounds, 2 sets of 12; 40 pounds, 15
Seated leg curl: 75 pounds, 3 sets of 17
Adjustable row, 110 pounds: 15, then 8, at which point I noticed an incipient headache and stopped

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arches, 3 sets of 16
Tree, 3 sets of 2 reps on each leg; I wasn't able to stay balanced on the left leg when I tried pulling my arms in, which works fine when standing on the right leg

Triceps pulldown, 35 pounds, 3 sets of 16
Seated leg press, 160 pounds, 3 sets of 15 (and my knees have been aching)

Biceps curls: 40 pound bar, 2 reps, then stopped because my left wrist hurt. A 20-pound barbell in my right hand, 15, then 10. 20-pound bar, thinking of balancing things a bit, 20 reps

Stretches

(Since the color-coding has now gotten complicated: green means more weight or more repetitions, red means less of something, usually because I had trouble doing as much as previously, and the blue is where I dropped the weights and increased reps.)

Then I went down to 14th Street, and got Solar Shields for [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel and a pair for myself. I like this. They may not be fashionable, but from inside the view is delightful: the day was still bright, but it didn't hurt. Which makes me wonder why I didn't realize sooner that this was possible; my photogray lenses are good, but not this good. (An advantage of their being photogray rather than a lower-tech tint is that I can put the Solar Shields over them.)

Thence back on the F train to Atlantic Avenue. As usual, I spent about $20 at Sahadi, a few things on the shopping list, one or two that should have been if I'd gotten around to writing them down, and then various impulsiveness, from whole roasted salted pistachios not in their shells (Iranian; I got a sample and they were quite nice. Hard to be sure if they're significantly more expensive than the Turkish or Californian nuts in the shells, because I don't know how much of the weight of a pound of pistachios is shells) to Choco Leibniz cookies made for Poland and vicinity. The recipe is slightly different than what we get; I can't be sure of the details, because I can't read Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, or Estonian, but there's a nutty flavor, and the cookies are smaller.

After all that, and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude's errands and his share of tax prep and stress, neither of us was up to cooking. I can make lamb curry tomorrow.
